Predictions

Spontaneous Activity

We simulated the network using different levels of spontaneous synaptic release (0.00025 - 0.002 Hz) and different extracellular calcium concentration (1 - 2 mM). These simulations can give a prediction on how the CA1 could behave without any external inputs at in vivo or in vitro extracellular calcium concentrations (respectively 1 and 2 mM). In these conditions, the activity is very sparse and irregular.

Mean Firing Rate

Distribution of neuron firing rate. We excluded first 1000 ms and sampled a maximum of 100 random neurons*.

No data available.

[*] We may see an empty mean firing rate plot, even though there are spikes in the network (see Spike Time section). This is because the plot is based on a sample of 100 neurons, none of which may spike at low firing rates.
