TERMS OF USE

Welcome to the EPFL/ Blue Brain Project (“BBP”) Hippocampus Hub Explore Model Section (“Hub”).

Unless otherwise stated, the Hub content includes everything you see, hear or otherwise receive from, and anything you download or otherwise use from, including but not limited to the Rat Hippocampus CA1 microcircuit, data, models, software, images, illustrations, designs, video, icons, photographs, text, sounds, music, code, services, workflows and tools (“Content”). Content is protected by Swiss and international copyright laws and other laws.

By accessing, browsing, or using the Hub and its Content, you agree to the following terms and conditions of use (“Terms”) and to any future revision. We may change, suspend, discontinue, limit or remove any part of the Content or change the Terms at any time, without prior notice or liability. Your continued use of the Hub and its Content following any changes is an agreement by you to the change in Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers to you any right, title or interest in any Content, including any intellectual property or content of third-party websites included on the Hub.

LICENCE

Unless otherwise stated, we own or have a license to all of the Content on the Hub.

For re-use of Content, please consult the respective License Terms that can be found with the respective artefact, and follow the Terms and Citation Policy below.

Content may not be used directly or indirectly by you for illegal, and military activities.

You may not post Content on social media or other third-party websites that require you to acknowledge that you own the Content you post.

Violation of licence terms may result to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.

YOUR USE OF THE HUB

BBP maintains this Hub for your information, education and to ensure that the outputs of its research can be verified, built upon and used to advance knowledge and generate improvements.

Please feel free to browse and use the Hub. However, nothing in these Terms transfers to you any right, title or interest in any Content, including any intellectual property or content of BBP and/or third-party websites linked to on the Hub.

BBP name and concept cannot be used for any purpose without explicit permission. Inappropriate and/or unauthorized use of name and concept can lead to legal action.

Some links furnished on our Hub may allow you to leave our Hub. If you choose to use a third-party website, you will be subject to the terms and conditions of use that apply to such third-party website. These third-party websites are not under our control and we disclaim any responsibility for the contents of such linked websites or any link(s) contained in any such linked website(s) or any changes or updates to any of these websites. We further disclaim any responsibility for any form of transmission received from any linked third-party website or advertising.

If you would like to link to our Hub, you may only do so on the basis that you link to, but do not replicate, any page of our Hub and subject to the following conditions:

1. you do not in any way imply that we are endorsing any services or products unless this has been specifically agreed with us
2. you do not misrepresent your relationship with us or present any false information about us
3. do not portray the BBP in a false or misleading light (for example implying endorsement to politicals and political parties, pharmaceutical companies, alternative therapies, military activities and references thereof)
4. your website does not contain content that is offensive, controversial, infringes any intellectual property rights or other rights of any other person or entity

If you choose to use or link our Hub in breach of this section, you shall fully indemnify us for any loss or damage suffered as a result of your actions.

CONTENT ON THIS HUB IS PROVIDED BY BBP AS-IS AND AS-AVAILABLE, AND BBP MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ABOUT THE COMPLETENESS, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, SUITABILITY OR AVAILABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ERROR-FREE, ABSENCE OF LATENT OF OTHER DEFECTS OF THE CONTENT; OR THAT THE CONTENT IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. CITATION

While BBP is committed to ensure that its Content is used in ways that maximize public benefit, BBP requests to acknowledge the scientists who have provided the Content with an appropriate citation as detailed below in all cases where Content is used publicly.

Primary publication

In cases where there is a primary publication about the specific resource, cite the publication (i.e. investigators/authors, year of release, title, publisher and publisher location, date access, temporal and spatial subset (as appropriate), digital object identifier) and the Hub.

Data

Cite the source in a manner that is clear, accurate and easily discoverable and link to the source Hub.

TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Hub and to the Content at any time, without notice, and for any reason. If you fail to comply with these Terms, you no longer have authorization to use the Content and any and all rights granted to you under the Terms are revoked. Violation of Terms may result to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence. Your obligations under these Terms will continue upon termination of your rights.

GOVERNING LAW

The laws of Switzerland govern these Terms. The exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be Lausanne, Switzerland.
